A Beautiful Summer Day at the Beach - Cape Florida State Park

Cape Florida Lighthouse - Summer 2011
I never get tired of photographing my favorite lighthouse.  Today was such a beautiful summer day at the beach. The colors, sounds, and sights of the beach today is one of the reasons why I love Florida and one of the reasons Florida is my home. Yes, there are some amazing places around the country that I just love to visit and photograph, but at the end of the day,  in the middle of summer, there's nothing like spending the day at the beach with your kids. Especially when it's the same beach that my parents took me when I was a kid. El Farito is even more beautiful today than it was back in the 1970's. And BTW, this was taken with a P&S Olympus waterproof camera; not anything fancy now.

Don't forget to follow me on Twitter @MAP_Photography and head on over to Facebook and "Like" my fan page.

See you at the beach folks ....

Day 58: Enough Bullcrap....Just Plug the Friggin Well!

Folks, here's a view of one of the top ten beaches in the U.S.A., Cape Florida State Park. I took this image back in 1999.  Looks sweet doesn't it.  It still looks pretty good 11 years later.  But if that swill that has been spewing into the Gulf of Mexico makes its way into the Gulf Stream and ergo onto the east coast of the US,  this beach may end up covered in sludge. What a pity. This is the beach I grew up on. This is the beach of my youth. Of the 1970's.  Rediscovered post Andrew in the 1990's.

I pray to God that it stays pristine.  Enough talk folks. Fix it and clean it up. 58 days is much too long and it's clear that no one has a clue as to how to fix this. Pathetic!
