The pier at South Pointe Park, in South Beach. As a kid, before this beach was taken over by the old folks and later by the hoi polloi, South Beach used to be a family beach. As kids, we used to come here and fish from the pier and jetty. Needless to say, I would not be taking any kids there anytime soon unless it's real early like when this picture was taken.

You have such a way with skys!
Beautiful spot. It's a shame about the unsavory element.
I used to fish here too! Actually it's still pretty much a family beach but unfortunately the pier is closed. The HP (joke, if you know Spanish) go a little further north ...
Just to the left of the rocks, on a calm day, is one of my favorite spots to wade and float around. It's almost Caribbean like, it's so clear and the sand is soft.
The water here looks like it's aquamarines and emeralds, all jeweled. Just gorgeous. I'll think of this photo this weekend when I go to my beach up in MidBe.
They rebuilt it in 80 or 81 I think. We went there one day and it was like brand new. My friend Ray w. had been there the day before and pranked me. He dropped his shit and said watch this. We were walking south at the beginning of the pier and he just started running. It was only about 10 yards but he jumped and cleared the railing. I thought he would be dead. No way he could have hit the water. But he did. The pier runs parralel to a deep cut channel for the cruise ships. We spent the day jumping into the channel. Ray would run and jump over the railing. I jumped from the railing. I don't know how he did it. I'm a head taller and can't jump half as far.
