Yes infidels, even in Hialeah can someone find interesting avian subjects, albeit urban rather than natural perches though. While dropping off the boy early one morning a few weeks ago, as the sun was rising I spotted a pair of red-bellied woodpeckers (probably mates) atop an electrical pole. Grabbed the camera and preserved this image for all of my readers. I think that since this pair is in Hialeah, they are likely of Cuban Descent. Since I do not speak woodpecker, I think I will christen this pair, "Pedro" & "Rosie." Pedro, the male woodpecker is the one staring up the feathered skirt of his red headed and red bellied mate, Rosie, in this image -- Behavior not uncommon to birds or humans within the City limits of Hialeah, Florida. I'm off to never never land Mr. Sandman. What's the frequency Kenneth?

Obviously, Pedro didn't realize you were taking his picture and got caught in the act. He's awfully cute though and so is his little redheaded feathered friend.
It’s actually a class 3, arsenic preserved white pine TELEPHONE pole. How would I know this? The empirical evidence of a support bracket on the top of the pole is not standard electric utility hardware. The bracket type is that of a tension mount for communication cable. The pole is well worn and shows evidence of nearing its end of usefulness. Electric service that dead ends at the head of the pole is unlikely given 1) THE CONDITION OF THE POLE, 2) THE SIZE OF THE POLE AND 3) THE BRACKET SHOWN IN THE PICTURE. Please SIR! Know your outdoor plant BEFORE mis-identifying our utility structures. This is an OUTRAGE to all who toil and work to bring you your modern conveniences. GOOD DAY!
LOL!! Cool Photo. Glad your Ma is doing much better.
Hey that is the FPL pole in my backyard!
